Privacy Policy

1. Overview
SoundKeep is an offline Android music player for browsing, organizing, and playing audio files already stored on your device.
The current production release is designed to work without account creation and without uploading your music library to our servers.
2. Information the app accesses
To provide its core features, SoundKeep may access data already stored on your device, including:
- audio files stored on the device
- track metadata such as title, artist, album, lyrics, and embedded artwork
- playlists, favorites, recents, and app preferences stored locally on the device
3. How SoundKeep uses this information
- scan and display your local music library
- organize tracks into songs, albums, artists, folders, and playlists
- play audio files stored on the device
- save favorites, recent listening history, and app preferences locally
- let you edit embedded metadata and artwork for supported audio files
4. Data collection and sharing
In the current production release, SoundKeep:
- does not require account creation
- does not collect personal information on our servers
- does not upload your music library to a remote backend
- does not sell your personal data
- does not share your personal data with advertisers
- does not include ads, analytics, or cloud sync services
5. Permissions
SoundKeep requests access to audio files on your device so it can scan, organize, and play your local music library.
If you choose a replacement cover image or edit embedded metadata, Android may show system file-picker or write-access prompts so SoundKeep can save the changes to the selected local file.
6. Local storage, retention, and deletion
SoundKeep stores app state locally on your device. This may include:
- favorites
- playlists
- recent listening history
- theme and player settings
- metadata overrides and cached library information
This information remains on your device unless you delete it, clear the app's storage, uninstall the app, or use any in-app backup or restore feature that you choose to run.
SoundKeep does not maintain a server-side account or cloud database for the current production release, so there is no remote account data store for us to delete. If you want to remove SoundKeep's locally stored app data, you can clear the app data from Android settings or uninstall the app.
7. Security
SoundKeep is designed to process your music library locally on your device. The current production release does not transmit your music library, playlists, favorites, listening history, or settings to our servers.
Because app data is stored locally, the security of that data also depends on your device security settings, such as screen lock, operating system updates, and Android storage protections.
8. Children
SoundKeep is not specifically directed to children.
9. Future changes
If a future release adds cloud features, ads, analytics, account systems, subscriptions, or any other form of data collection or sharing, this policy will be updated before those changes are released.
